Woodside LEFT the Building!

On Sunday October 30, Woodside shut its doors so that instead of GOING to church we could BE the church.

And this year, it was our joy and priviledge to invite 5 other area churches to join us. The congregations of Anchor Presbyterian, Northhampton Presbyterian, United Church of Christ and Yardley United Methodist  follwed suit and canceled morning worship to serve others. Members of the parish of St. John the Evangelist joined in after worship.

This year the crazy weather (who would have thought of a snowy nor'easter in October?!) meant re-scheduling some of the outdoor projects - but projects went on nonetheless! We lead a worship service at a homeless camp, delivered meals to the homeless in Philadelphia, assembled bags for kids in foster care and collected canned goods for local pantries. At the end of the day all the congregations gathered for a combined worship service at Council Rock North High School. What a powerful witness to the day - a day when the Body of Christ was glorified though service, fellowship and worship!

Here's what folks are saying about the day:

"Everyone had a great time and all said they would do it again."

"The neighbors were so happy. What a blessing!"

 "Powerful". . ."Awesome". . . "Eye-opening". . . "Emotional" (from the recovery ministry service)

"My heart is so full of joy!"

"I can't wait until next year!"

"I hope we do this again next year"

"I can't believe your church is doing this. This kind of thing just doesn't happen." (said by a project guest)
