Read about the 2011 DR Trip Here:

Every summer Woodside sends a team of missionaries to the Dominican Republic for a short-term mission project. We partner with the Foundation for Peace, an organization with staff, facilities and experience in the DR. Our goal is to work hand in hand with the local church to create vibrant, sustainable communities that include:
- Church - for spiritual health
- Medical clinic - for physical health
- School - for intellectual health
- Clean water - for overall health
Planning for the 2012 trip is underway. The trip dates are Wednesday, June 27th until Friday, July 6th. An informational meeting will be held on Sunday, January 22nd at Woodside at 1 p.m. Whether you are a first timer exploring the possibilities of a short term mission trip or a veteran of other mission trips, join us on the 22nd or call Judy at the church office (215-493-4145).
The 2011 trip, Woodside's 10th anniversary trip, took place from June 22nd to July 1st. Our team of 23 adults, teens and youth returned to the port city of Haina to continue with the construction of the church and our other ministries such as Vacation Bible School and a medical clinic.
We continued building the church we started in 2009 in the city of Haina. When we arrived, we were thrilled to see the work that had been completed by the church members since our visit in 2010. The rear of the structure had been finished to provide a worship space and a kitchen and water cistern had just been added at the back of the site. While our team was digging trenches and pouring concrete for foundations of additional walls and columns, dividing walls began were going up across the ground floor of the structure. We conducted a medical clinic in a new community site, run one VBS program in the park and another in the church, made home medical visits to shut ins, attended and led worship, played with the children and continued to develop deep relationships with our Dominican friends—all in the name of Jesus. On our beach day we traveled to Juan Dolio for the first time for an afternoon of relaxation in the sand and surf.
We continued our partnership with the non-profit organization Samaritan's Feet to change lives of the impoverished and underprivileged by teaching them a Biblical story of faith, hope and love, demonstrating these truths by touching them by washing their feet, and then treating them to a new pair of shoes.
