Who We Are
Woodside Christian Preschool, established in 1989, offers programs that provide your child with a unique preschool experience in a loving and caring Christian environment. Our belief is that your child's first educational experience should lay the groundwork for his or her future. Therefore, our program emphasizes growth in Christian living and preparation for Kindergarten.

Our Teaching Style
Four types of living and learning skills will be developed, using a variety of age-appropriate "hands-on" activities. Christian themes will be featured in all four skill areas.

SOCIAL SKILLS: getting along with others,
sharing, following directions, accepting responsibility, cooperating, listening, leading and following.

FINE MOTOR/CREATIVE SKILLS: drawing, painting and coloring, tracing names, working with clay, blocks, painting, using scissors, gluing, singing, playing simple instruments and dramatic play.

PHYSICAL SKILLS: running, jumping, climbing, dancing and playing organized games.

COGNITIVE SKILLS: learning numbers, letters, colors and shapes, sorting and sequencing, matching, opposites, listening to stories, solving puzzles
, basic science and cooking.
In addition to regular classroom activities, the children in our Threes, Fours and Pre-Kindergarten classes have a weekly Music Class. The children in the Fours and Pre-Kindergarten program also have a weekly Computer Class. All of our children will "Jump for Joy" in our Movement class. Each class is designed to follow the goals of the school and to develop living and learning skills.
Our Facilities and Staff
Woodside Christian Preschool is a state-licensed and approved facility. Each classroom has one Pennsylvania state-certified teacher, one assistant teacher and a teacher's aide. All staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid and are recertified yearly.
The bright sunny classrooms are located in the educational wing of Woodside Presbyterian Church. The enclosed playground welcomes the children with an ark as its centerpiece along with other safe and age appropriate equipment.
Our Programs
Admissions
Woodside Christian Preschool believes God's love is given freely to all. Therefore, we admit girls and boys of any race, religion or national origin. Registration takes place in January for the following school year. The early weeks of January are devoted to registration of Woodside Church members and families with children who previously attended Woodside Christian Preschool. In the latter part of January, the Preschool hosts an Open House for all interested families in the community.
